Payment & Cancellation

Clear payment practices — and a reasonable way to cancel.

This page summarizes standard practices. A signed client agreement or Statement of Work controls the exact terms of a specific project.

Secure payment methods

Online card payments are made through authorized Square-hosted invoices or secure Square payment links, unless another method is specifically agreed in writing. Do not send full card numbers or CVV/security codes through ordinary website forms, email, text, chat, or shared documents.

Deposits and payment schedules

The required initial payment, deposit, milestone schedule, or final-payment timing is listed in the applicable Statement of Work, invoice, or written project terms. Different projects may use different schedules.

Third-party costs

Domains, hosting, premium software, APIs, stock media, licenses, subscriptions, or other vendor expenses are separate unless specifically included in writing. Client-authorized third-party charges already incurred may remain the client’s responsibility even if the project later ends.

Standard convenience cancellation

Unless the project-specific Statement of Work says otherwise, the standard client cancellation fee is $50 and will not exceed the unpaid project balance. The client may request cancellation in writing. After the required cancellation documentation is completed and the applicable cancellation fee is paid, no further unpaid Purpose Built Digital project installments or service fees are due for the cancelled project.

Previously paid amounts

Amounts already paid are not automatically refundable. Under the standard agreement, amounts may be retained to the extent they were earned or applied to work already performed, reserved project time, or non-refundable project expenses. The signed agreement controls.

Work completed before cancellation

After cancellation is completed, further work stops. Where practical and after cancellation amounts are settled, Purpose Built Digital may provide work completed to date in its then-current form. Incomplete work may not be production-ready.

Late or unpaid balances

Purpose Built Digital may pause work, withhold launch or handoff, or suspend ongoing services on an overdue account after reasonable notice where permitted by the applicable agreement.

Questions

If circumstances change, communicate early. The goal of the cancellation provision is to provide a predictable closeout process rather than force a client to continue a project they no longer want.
